Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Coldplay Drops New Music Video for “Humankind”
British rock band Coldplay, consisting of Chris Martin (vocals/keyboards/rhythm guitar), Jonny Buckland (guitar), Guy Berryman (bass) and Will Champion (drums), has dropped a new music video for “Humankind” on August 17, 2022.
The video was filmed while on tour in Mexico, directed by Stevie Rae Gibbs and James Marcus Haney.
The song is included on their ninth studio album “Music of the Spheres”, which was released in 2021.
It was written by Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, Will Champion, Max Martin, Federico Vindver, Daniel Green, Oscar Holter, Jon Hopkins, and Stephen Fry.
Chris Martin told Apple Music about the song, “You can sketch ideas out in the studio sometimes, and that was one we were really kind of struggling with before Max took the reins. It didn't sound very fresh; it had a good energy, but was maybe just a little bit too rock for us, and he really gave it more of a modern shine. It could be from just editing the basic song and the song structure or it could be adjusting slightly the rhythm pattern to make it all stick together better.”- Photo by Stevie Rae Gibbs
