Giant Rooks Returns With New Song “Morning Blue”
German alt-rock band Giant Rooks, consisting of Frederik Rabe (vocals), Finn Schwieters (guitar), Luca Göttner (bass), Jonathan Wischniowski (keyboards), Finn Thomas (drums), is back with a new song “Morning Blue” along with a music video on July 8, 2022.
The song is their first music in two years since the 2020 debut album “Rookery”.
It was written by Finn Jonas Schwieters, Frederik Rabe, Luca Göttner, Jonathan Wischniowski, and Finn Thomas.
Produced by Jochen Naaf and Giant Rooks. The accompanying video was directed by Sander Houtkruijer.
Giant Rooks shared on social media, “we haven't put out new music for 2 years, which feels like a very long time. there is a great deal of pressure on artists these days to release new songs on a regular basis and we've been struggling with that quite a lot. since the release of rookery in 2020, we've gathered hundreds of song ideas, trying to figure out what we wanted to do next. we were always thinking if we just try harder or push harder, we would write a better song. at some point we were so haunted by these thoughts that we completely lost track of all the stuff we had already written. it felt like we sort of lost our intuition, which had always been the one thing we could trust. that's when we came up with morning blue.”
- The band continued, “in a way it started a process of healing and reflection. it's a song about never feeling quite at home, always being on the run, about feeling chased by your own perception of things, and this really sums up what we've been going through as a band over the last 2 years. we're so happy that we took the time we needed, that we did this at our own pace and that we've learnt to have trust in our intuition again. and we're even more happy that morning blue will finally be out there for you to listen to at midnight. thank you to each and everyone of you for always having our back on this crazy journey!! we love you and we'll be forever grateful for your love and support.”
