Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Carter & the Capitals Returns With New Song “Lovely Lovely Lovely”
Canadian five-piece funk band Carter & the Capitals, consisting of Lindon Carter (vocals), Eric Wildeman (guitar), Eric Doucet (keyboards), Ali Mirzaie (bass), and Sam Malowany (drums), returned with a new song “Lovely Lovely Lovely” alongside a music video on July 22, 2022.
The song is their first music since the 2019 self-titled debut album.
It was written by Lindon Carter, Eric Wildeman, Sam Malowany, Saagar Mirzaie and Eric Doucet.
“Our new song, 'Lovely Lovely Lovely,' captures feelings of joyful gratitude for those we love and who love us back!,” the band said of the song. “Inspired by a drum groove as well as a bass cover we heard of 'Never Too Much' by Luther Vandross, this track pays homage to Prince through the guitar's spanky tone.”
The band continued, “'Lovely Lovely Lovely' has taught us to not take ourselves so seriously and to enjoy the privilege of playing music with some of our best friends.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Lindon Carter.
They said of the video, “We translated the song's gratitude and feeling of togetherness into the official music video, which features us playing live in a circle all facing each other in a large ballroom, surrounded by our audience.
