Sabrina Carpenter Announces New Album “Emails I Can't Send”, Shares New Song “Vicious”
- American singer-songwriter and actress Sabrina Carpenter announced her fifth studio album “Emails I Can't Send” would be released on July 15, 2022.
It is her first album in three years since the 2019 album “Singular: Act II”.
The album comprises 13-track, produced by Big Taste, Jason Evigan and John Ryan.
Back in February, she told GQ about the album, “I can say that everything is based on my life, so you're going to get some specific stories and memories, [and] that is actually quite terrifying. I've experienced both me being discontent and also happy, so I want to show that. It's going to be complex.”
From the album, she unveiled a new song “Vicious” on July 1, 2022.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Skinny Dipping” and “Fast Times”.
It was written by Sabrina Carpenter, Jason Evigan and Amy Allen. Produced by Jason Evigan.
“Sonically, you’re able to hear me really closely, and it’s almost like I’m narrating the story to you,” Sabrina Carpenter said of the song. “This song is really narrative and personal. It’s as if I’m having a conversation. We’ve all had experiences with people we love so deeply who turn out to be different than we thought they were. It’s a really painful realization to come to terms with. A lot of times, we focus on the other side of the healing process and fail to own up to uncomfortable feelings like anger and resentment. I don’t touch on that side of myself too often, but it’s a huge part of my story over the past couple of years, so I thought it was important to start there on ‘Vicious.'”
