Swedish singer-songwriter Lykke Li will release her fifth studio album “EYEYE” on May 220, 2022.
It is her first album in four years since the 2018 album “So Sad So Sexy”.
On April 20, she released the second single called “HIGHWAY TO YOUR HEART” from the album, following “No Hotel”.
It was written and produced by Lykke Li and Björn Yttling.
The accompanying music video was directed by Theo Lindquist, starring Lykke Li and Jeff Wilbusch.
On the album, she approached with a minimalist recording setup. She recorded the album with a $70 handheld drum microphone in her Los Angeles bedroom.
“I wanted the record to have the intimacy of listening to a voice memo on a macro dose of LSD,” Lykke Li explained.
The album will be accompanied by a visual component. The videos were directed by Theo Lindquist, who shot on 16mm film, and will be split into one-minute videos.
“We wanted to capture the beauty and grandeur of a three-hour European arthouse movie, while making something native to modern media. The intention is to deliver the full impact of a movie in sixty seconds on a phone screen, which is where most of our emotional experiences happen now anyway.”- source : Apple Music
