- Scottish-American singer-songwriter Bishop Briggs is back with two new songs “High Water” and “Art of Survival”.
Both songs are an ode to her late sister Kate, who passed away in 2021.
“High Water” was written by K.Flay, Bishop Briggs and Scott Chesak.
“Art of Survival” was written by Benji Madden, Bishop Briggs and Scott Chesak.
Both songs were produced by Scott Chesak. The music video for “High Water” was directed by Tim Mattia .
Bishop Briggs said of two songs, “I feel really grateful that I am here wide-eyed sharing new music with all of you. I can't say that I knew if that was going to be possible for me after my sister Kate passed away in January of 2021. With all soulmates there is an unbreakable bond and energy that ties the relationship so closely that nothing can break it. Although I feel broken, I know our bond will surpass the concept of time and healing. 'High Water' was written from the depths of my despair as a love letter to my best friend who I miss so dearly. Whereas 'Art of Survival' is from a place of choosing to keep fighting to live fully and I firmly believe this is where she would hope to find me. I felt deeply I couldn't release one without the other. So here, in my rawest form, I give you my soul on a platter. Thank you for being here.”
