Chance the Rapper Releases New Song “Child of God” featuring Moses Sumney
American rapper Chance the Rapper released a new song “Child of God” along with a music video on March 25, 2022.
The song follows up “The Heart & The Tongue”, which was released in March 2021.
The track features Ghanaian-American singer-songwriter Moses Sumney.
It was written by Chancellor Bennett, Moses Sumney, Dexter Coleman, Al Hug and Peter Wilkins. Produced by DEXLVL, Al Hug and Peter Cottontale.
The accompanying video was filmed in the same room at his House of Kicks studio in Chicago as with the previous video for “The Heart & The Tongue”.
In the clip, New York architectural designer Naïla Opiangah worked on bringing to life a new piece that stands 11 feet tall and six feet wide.
In a statement, both artists said the project was designed to serve as a “candid representation” of the exchanges between two creative voices who come from different backgrounds. They said, “It's a visualization of our mirrored experience.”
Chance the Rapper shared on social media, “Tonight I release my first solo song since The Heart & The Tongue. This song is about confidence, purpose and process. Thank you Naïla Opiangah for believing in me and working with me to create this very vulnerable piece, I am eternally grateful for and in awe of your gifts. To the rest of the world, just do your thing.”- Photo by Keeley Parenteau
