British singer-songwriter Charli XCX will release her fifth studio “CRASH” this Friday (March 18).
From the album, she unveiled a new promotional song “Every Rule” on March 13, 2022.
She wrote the song with A. G. Cook, and Oneohtrix Point Never produced the track.
The song is one of the first songs she wrote for “CRASH”, an oral history of a relationship over an instrumental that could've come straight from Twin Peaks. It's a song about her long-term relationship that recently ended.
Charli XCX told Rolling Stone about the song, “It's funny when you talk about explosions, this really genuine and beautiful love story on this album is also quite traumatic to listen back to, because this is a relationship from my past that no longer exists. Even the story within how we met is quite explosive, I suppose. I really love this song because I'm just saying exactly what happened and it feels very truthful.”
The new album comprises 12-track, featuring guest appearances from Caroline Polachek, Christine and the Queens and Rina Sawayama.- JsYJYUQgT7k
