Rachel Chinouriri Premieres New Song “All I Ever Asked” on BBC Radio 1
British singer-songwriter Rachel Chinouriri premiered a new song on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
The song follows up “So My Darling (Acoustic)”, which was released back in January.
It was written by Glenn Roberts, Jamie Lloyd Taylor and Rachel Chinouriri. Produced by Daniel Hylton.
Rachel Chinouriri said of the song, “At the time I wrote this song, I was in a relationship that I didn’t feel like I was getting my full fulfillment from. I felt like I was always asking for very simple and small things, and they would just never, ever happen. But also, when you’re in a relationship, you don’t really want to throw your partner under the bus, so I think I had a lot of self-denial. My best friend called me, and she had just gone through a breakup. Everything I was feeling deep down, I managed to translate through her. I love dancing to [this song] onstage. I had a lot of dark-sounding songs at that moment, so I was like, ‘OK, let’s make this one a little bit happier-sounding, despite the lyric.’”- Rachel Chinouriri told Clara Amfo about the song, “It's a good mix of the two. It's so weird I have such everyone always makes you feel like Oh, you're so like up in this and then my songs are like I am heart broken.”
She continued, “It's so weird because it's literally about my best friend. I was in studio and she was like, 'No, I just don't want to disturb you or anything.' And she's like, 'Oh, my boyfriend just broke up with me.' She starts crying on the pilot and I'm like, 'Okay, I got 10 minutes.' Get everything out in this 10 minutes, one inside and then just throw it.” - source : BBC Radio 1
