  • Olivera Releases New Song “Thank God I'm an Atheist” for Eurovision Song Contest 2022

  • Finnish singer-songwriter Olivera released an entry song for the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 called “Thank God I'm an Atheist” on January 19, 2022.

It was written by Lenno Linjama, Alpo Nummelin and Olivera. Produced by Lenno Linjama and Alpo Nummelin.
Olivera shared on social media, “I've always wondered about the promise of an eternal life made by various religions. I find the thought unsettling; there's something about knowing life is finite that makes it so precious💜 I wrote the song with an old piano in my living room, and it was produced by Lenno and Alpo Nummelin ✨⠀Hope my song makes you thoughtful 🌊”
UMK jury comments, “Olivera is one of Finland's most interesting and talented indie artists performing on the international stage. Thank God I'm an Atheist is a beautiful, touching ballad, which already grabs the listener with its name and its opening bars. Olivera's expressive voice really comes into its own in the song, which, although constructed of few elements, forms a truly impressive whole. The song is also very timely, while still offering a totally unique sound.”
The Eurovision Song Contest 2022 will take place at the PalaOlimpico in Turin, Italy, and will consist of two semi-finals on 10 and 12 May, and the final on 14 May 2022.
