Mamak Khadem Teams Up With Coldplay's Chris Martin for New Song “Across The Oceans”
- Iranian singer-songwriter Mamak Khadem teamed up with British rock band Coldplay's Chris Martin to release a new song “Across The Oceans”.
Chris Martin performed the piano and vocals on the track.
The song is the first single off of her upcoming fourth solo album “REMEMBRANCE”, which is expected to be released in early 2022.
It was written by Mamak Khadim and Jamshied Sharifi. The accompanying music video was directed by Sam Javadi.
In the clip, children are trying to save the whales, which is symbolize the Earth and the current state of global warming, environmental degradation and ongoing water issues.
The song is inspired by her work in refugee camps, where she sings and hosts workshops for underprivileged children.
Also, the track features poet Coleman Barks. Mamak Khadem said, “It was an honor when Coleman accepted my invitation to record and translate the beautiful poetry of Rumi for this song.” The track features poet Coleman Barks.
