Becoming Young Releases New Single “Stand Down (Reimagined)”
- Nashville-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Brandon Calano, aka Becoming Young released a new version of “Stand Down” called “Stand Down (Reimagined)” on December 3, 2021.
The original version of the song is included his second album “The Songs I Wrote You”, which was released back in May.
The original version was produced by Ryan Hadlock. This time, he teamed up with co-writer Jake Puliti and producer Austin Shawn on the track.
They tried to bring forth the bold duality hidden under the surface of the song.
“Stand Down is a song for those who have boldly stood at the doors of their lover’s heart and confessed their true feelings. It’s a calling to find the courage to be vulnerable and let someone into your life,” Brandon Calano explained of the song. “I wrote this song about someone who was afraid to reveal herself. For so long, I tried to show her how much I loved every part of her, including her demons. This song was a proclamation of my commitment.”
- He continued, “Ryan Hadlock (The Lumineers, Vance Joy) produced the first rendition of Stand Down in 2020, which was released on my second album, The Songs I Wrote You. I liked that production, and yet sometimes you write songs with lyrics too special to confine them to just one recording. After living with the first version of Stand Down for a year, I decided to experiment and see how else the song might evolve.”
He added, “A few weeks ago, Austin Shawn and I reimagined what this song could feel like. After several late nights of experimentation, we recorded this new version. I’m thrilled with how this rendering turned out, and I believe it now fully captures the essence of how the song has always felt in my heart.”
