Regard Premieres New Song “Signals” featuring Kwabs on BBC Radio 1
Kosovo-Albanian DJ Regard premiered a new song “Signals” featuring London-based singer-songwriter Kwabs on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
It was written by Alexander Shuckburgh, Kwabena Adjepong and Ben Drew.
For Kwabs, the song is his first music since his 2015 debut album “Love + War” in six years.
Kwabs told Clara Amfo about the song, “Always good is I'll be real with you. The song kind of came to me rather than me coming to the song. It just so happened that I really liked the person that I was working with. I really love Regard. I really like the way he approaches what he does. And something about it just felt right to me. So for me, this is like it's kind of like me dipping my toe in the water or kind of accidentally, you know, is like, it's almost like go for the whole faith thing. I don't know what you call this other than like an amazing opportunity just to put myself out there again.”- For Regard, the song follows up “You” featuring Troye Sivan and Tate McRae.
Regard said of the song, “You can never get bored with deep house.”
Kwabs added, “I recorded the vocal for "Signals" so long ago that it was crazy to think I'd ever be hearing it on the radio. It just goes to show that sometimes you can't keep a good song down. Huge kudos goes to Regard; he really transformed it into something new. And now it's this whole mad, amazing, emotional dance record. I can't wait for people to hear it.” - source : BBC Radio 1
