Canadian soul and pop singer-songwriter Maggie Szabo has unveiled a new song “Back Where We Started” with an accompanying music video.
The track is the first single off of her upcoming EP, which is expected to be released in 2020. It was written by Maggie Szabo, Brandon Delyzer, Rob Russell and Sam Hanson, who also produced it. The video was directed by Diego Ferrés Devotto, featuring Joshua Smith.
“When I first started out in music, my passion was driven by the love I had for singing and the way I felt expressing myself through songwriting and connecting with my amazing fans,” Maggie Szabo said. “After moving to the big city (LA) from my small town in Ontario, Canada, my whole world expanded from the types of inspiring and unique people I was surrounded by to the importance of being kind to myself in such a fast-paced, go-go-go industry. I became extremely passionate about equal rights for all, female empowerment and the importance of self-love. Music has given me a platform to spread that message and now I’m not only passionate about the music I’m creating; I’m passionate about creating awareness, empowering the underdog and being a strong woman in a male-domianted industry. ‘Back Where We Started’ - available April 3 - is the first single off my upcoming EP.
