PVRIS Announces New Album “Use Me”, Releases New Song “Dead Weight”
- American rock band PVRIS announced their third studio album “Use Me” will be released on May 1st.
The album comprises of 11-track including 3 songs from the third EP “Hallucinations”, which was released last October.
From the album, the band released a new song “Dead Weight” alongside a music video directed by Lorenzo Diego Carrera. It was written by Tommy English, Sean Van Vleet, Nate Cyphert, JT Daly, Nicolò Roberto Roccatello, YHELLOW and Lynn Gunn.
“'Dead Weight’‘ is about being a people pleaser, holding others up and never asking for anything back. Quite often that can be taken advantage of and it can be hard to set “no”/set boundaries. This feels amplified, especially as a woman. This song is about stepping into my power as a woman, shedding old skin and taking nurturing/caretaker feminine nature and turning it into a super power,” frontwoman Lynn Gunn said of the song. “Giving too much of yourself to others, being unable to say" no “and being unable to set limits. That is especially what the song ‘'Dead Weight’‘ is about. The song is about taking matters into their own hands again.”
The album is available to pre-order here.
