Shakira Teams Up With Camilo & Pedro Capó for “Tutu” Remix
- Colombian singer-songwriter Shakira announced that she will appear on Super Bowl halftime show with Jennifer Lopez in Miami next year.
After the announcement, she unveiled remix version of “Tutu” along with Camilo and Pedro Capó on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show.
The original version was released by Colombian singer-songwriter Camilo Echeverry, aka Camilo and Puerto Rican singer-songwriter Pedro Capó back in August.
“This song is like a disease,” Shakira said. “I can’t get it out of my head so I decided to just jump on it, you know. The wheels started turning and I ended up making a remix for it. I’m just taking every input that I receive and it’s turning into inspiration. Yesterday I finished a song and I was so thrilled. So we’ll see. I just want to put music out there.”
About Super Bowl halftime show, “I think it’s like the holy grail of the entertainment industry,” she said. “It’s a sports event but it has a huge relevance for us artists. Jay Z is producing the show and he called me and asked me if I wanted to be a part of that. Of course, I didn’t hesitate.”
“He mentioned that Jennifer was also involved,” she continued. “I think this is going to be an event to celebrate Latin culture and the importance of women also overall in the industry. It’s going to be very short. Therefore very nerve-wracking, I think. You know, the wheels are already turning. I can’t stop thinking of ideas. Every day I have a new idea and now it’s a matter of making them all work.”
