Robyn Premieres New Song “Human Being” featuring Zhala and New Album “Honey”: Stream
- Swedish singer-songwriter Robyn released her eighth studio album "Honey" on October 26, 2018.
The album is her first LP in eight years since "Body Talk".
Before the release of the album, she unveiled a new song “Human Being” as the last preceding single.
The song features Stockholm-based singer Zhala and written by Robyn and Joseph Mount.
The album comprises of 9-track including the previously released singles "Missing U" and "Honey".
She said of “Human Being”:
"I had just read the book Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari and I was inspired by the way that he described our relationship to animals. He wrote about what the future will be like, and how is AI going to treat us. The only other relationship we have with another form of life that would be similar to how AI would relate to us is how we treat to animals. So I wrote the song as if AI had taken over the world, and the human beings were the minority. AI will do everything better than us, maybe even have emotions. What is it that’s so special about us really? And if you take that away, is there any value still left in being human? I think the value is being connected to other people."
Robyn said of the album that the record feels like it comes from a “sweet place, like a very soft ecstasy”.
“I danced a lot when I was making it,” she said about the recording process in a press release. “I found a sensuality and a softness that I don’t think I was able to use in the same way before. Everything just became softer.”
