Trade Secrets Premieres New Song “True North” on SoundCloud
Los Angeles-based synth pop project Trade Secrets has released a new song “True North” from their debut album "BEFORE WE VANISH".
The song was written and produced by Trade Secrets: F.J. DeSanto, Mike “Ash” Venezia, Damien “Peka” Polak, Charles LaBarbara, John Glenn Kunkel, and Peter Riley.
The track is sophisticated rhythmic synth pop with low range vocals like Pink Floyd's David Gilmour. The band showcased a euphoric soundtrack with dreamlike soundscapes, driving electronic beats and synth-laden melodies.
The group founder F.J. DeSanto said of the song, "It's always fascinating and at least a little dangerous. It's about looking out over a sprawling city and embracing being a tiny speck of dust in a giant world. It doesn't matter who you are and where you are, there is always a desire to know what lies in the shadows of our hearts and souls."- The debut album "BEFORE WE VANISH" was released on September 7th and comprises of 9-track. The album was inspired by DeSanto’s time spent in Tokyo before facing a life-threatening illness.
"The record is about re-entering the orbit of life and learning how to live it again. The first record was a dream and this one is about waking up from that dream and rediscovering who you are,” DeSanto stated.
