SARRA Premieres New Song “Kerosene” on SoundCloud
- Dallas based singer-songwriter SARRA has shared a new song “Kerosene” from her upcoming self-titled album.
Last year she released "Gone Through Hell" and "Fuck It It's Alright" under the name Sarah Sellers.
But she changed her stage name to SARRA and this song marks the first release as SARRA.
The new song was written by SARRA, Jay Stolar, and Josh Goode. The sound blends EDM, jazz and modern pop.
The track reminds us of '90s Chaka Khan.
The new album is expected to be released later this year.
SARRA said of the song;
“Till death do us part” is always a simple concept when you first fall in love and start planning your life together. Holding true to that when you’re deep in the trenches of a broken marriage I think defines who makes it out together or apart. When I wrote Kerosene I was grappling with that idea of, 'I’ll love you forever' then when shit starts to go bad how quickly that love can turn to 'I want to see you burn'."
Recently, the former American Idol star revealed why she changed name.
She recorded a song "Your Name" for the new album after her divorce.
"One of the songs on the record is called ‘Your Name.’ So many of my songs were about my ex and the experience of going through a divorce. During my NYC writing session last summer I said, 'do you ever just get to the point where you’re tired of even hearing someone’s name? You’re just so ready to move on?' Not only did this turn into one of my favorite songs on the album, but it resulted in me making the decision to drop the 'Sellers' in my name and instead go by SARRA."
