XYLØ Premieres New Song “Don't Panic”
- American electro-pop singer-songwriter Paige Duddy, aka XYLØ has released a new song “Don't Panic”. The song was premiered exclusively on Billboard.
The track is her second solo single. Originally, XYLØ was formed by Paige Duddy and her brother Chase Duddy. But the duo separated and she started as a solo artist last year.
She plans to release a new song per month this year, with a video to accompany each one. The track is one of them, following "Heaven Only Knows".
It was written by Clara Hagman, Cassandra Ströberg, Paige Duddy, Lee Newell and Jimmy Harry.
Paige Duddy told Billboard about the song;
"There's a lot of real bass, a lot of electric guitar but still in that electronic pop way. I wanted 'Heaven Only Knows' to feel raw and stripped-back. But most of the other songs are in the same mold as 'Don't Panic,' which I think will feel more familiar to people.
Most of the other music I wrote was kind of about relationships and what I was going through at the time. I wanted ('Don't Panic') to be more empowering, but without being so on-the-nose with it. I wanted to write a song that felt carefree and cheeky with a message about being young and not wanting to take things so seriously and don't sweat the small stuff, whether that's in a relationship, specifically, or in life in general. I just wanted to write something that felt fun and easygoing."
