Florence + the Machine Premieres New Song “Sky Full Of Song”
- London-based indie rock band Florence + the Machine released a new song "Sky Full of Song" on Thursday (April 12) from their upcoming fourth album "High As Hope".
The track was written by Thomas Bartlett, Emile Haynie and Florence Welch. The music video for the song was premiered on the same day, directed by AG Rojas.
It will be included on a limited 7" vinyl single for Record Store Day, April 21, which will also feature a poem titled “New York Poem (for Polly)”.
The album "High As Hope" is their first LP in three years since "How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful" and is expected to be released latar this year.
Florence Welch said of the song in a statement:
"This was a song that just fell out of the sky fully formed. Sometimes when you are performing you get so high, it’s hard to know how to come down. There is this feeling of being cracked open, rushing endlessly outwards and upwards, and wanting somebody to hold you still, bring you back to yourself. It’s an incredible, celestial, but somehow lonely feeling."
