Nigerian British singer-songwriter Sade released a new song “Flower of the Universe” for the first time in seven years.
The track was recorded for the forthcoming soundtrack to the Disney film "A Wrinkle in Time", which is directed by Ava DuVernay, starring Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Michael Peña, Storm Reid, Zach Galifianakis, and Chris Pine. The film is set to be released on March 9, 2018.
Director Ava DuVernay tweeted of Sade's contribution to the soundtrack, "I never thought she'd say yes, but asked anyway. She was kind and giving. A Goddess."
In addition to Sade, the soundtrack features Kehlani, Chloe + Halle and Sia, due out is on the same day as the film releases.
Sade's last single was "Still in Love with You" from her compilation album "The Ultimate Collection" in 2011. Also last album "Soldier of Love" was released eight years ago and won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
