British singer-songwriter Calum Scott collaborated with Leona Lewis on his smash hit "You Are the Reason".
Originally, the song was released by Calum Scott in November 2017, which has earned over 11.5 million Spotify streams during it’s first three months of release. It was written by Corey Sanders, Jon Maguire and Calum Scott.
About the duet version, Calum Scott said in a statement;
“Working with Leona was a dream come true. As a fan, I first remember watching her on TV [she was the winner of season 3 of the U.K.’s The X Factor] before going on to grace the globe with her incredibly beautiful voice. Now having the honour of working with her on one of my own songs is completely surreal and the passion and raw emotion she brings to our duet makes it even more special to me.”
Leona Lewis echoed the sentiment;
“Calum’s performance on [the track is] stunning and I loved being able to join him to make this duet version.”-
- Calum Scott described the writing process and meaning behind the song,
"‘You Are The Reason’ started out as a song about something completely different than what it is now. It was originally written from a fragile place of anxiety and not knowing the cause of it, so the song started to become ‘Without A Reason’.
