- Estelle Premieres New Song “Love Like Ours” Featuring Tarrus Riley
- British singer-songwriter and Grammy-award winning artist Estelle Fanta Swaray, aka Estelle has released a new song "Love Like Ours". This time, she teamed up with Jamaican-American reggae singer Tarrus Riley. The song was premiered exclusively on The Jamaica Gleaner on June 4, 2017.
The track is the first single off her forthcoming fifth studio album, which is a reggae album and will be released fall this year.
She has already filmed the music video, which is premiered on June 16.
About the new album, she said;
"I grew up on reggae. There was a lot of reggae influence in my upbringing. For me, it's as I got older, I got to appreciate it more. It's meant to touch everybody. The reggae on the album speaks to the West Indian side of me and afrobeats to the African side of my family. It's not just about doing this for the moment. At the end of the day, it feels natural to me. This is something building since 2007. Afrobeats is old music to me. I've been playing this for years. It's kind of like it's time now.
All of my albums have been just a collection of songs. It's a love story. It's unique. It's all the phases of romance. It's kind of their story, the story of how [my parents] got back together. Love is love. Sometimes it just takes time to come back around. So the album was developed from their entire perspective. It's their story in 10 records; a tribute to their love story. They found their way back."
Estelle debuted with her first album "The 18th Day" in 2004. Since then, shr has released three albums such as "Shine", "All of Me" and "True Romance".
In 2009, she won for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration at Grammy Awards with her single "American Boy" featuring Kanye West.
