- Official Trailer for “Sicario: Day Of The Soldado” starring Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin
- Sony Pictures Entertainment has unveiled a new trailer for “Sicario: Day Of The Soldado”. The film draws the drug war at the U.S.-Mexico border as it has escalated to the point where the cartels have begun transporting terrorists.
The film is a sequel to 2015's film "Sicario", which was directed by Denis Villeneuve, starring Emily Blunt, Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin and Victor Garber.
This time, the film is centering on Benicio del Toro's character Alejandro Gillick, who is former undercover operative. Directed by Stefano Sollima and written by Taylor Sheridan.
Following the Sicario, Josh Brolin as Matt Graver, who is CIA agent, appears on, too. Unfortunately, Emily Blunt, who played FBI agent as Kate Macer on previous film, doesn't join in the film.
In addition to Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin, the film features appearances from Isabela Moner, Jeffrey Donovan, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Catherine Keener.
After discovering that Mexican drug cartels are smuggling jihadi terrorists across the U.S. border, the CIA sends Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) and former undercover operative Alejandro Gillick (Benicio del Toro) to eliminate the problem by deliberately inciting all-out war between the rival drug syndicates. Along the way, Gillick revisits his old nemesis to settle scores.
Principal photography on the film began in New Mexico on November 8, 2016.
The film is set to be released on June 29, 2018 by Columbia Pictures.
