  • GRACEY Premieres New Song “Sad Song” from New EP “Fragile” on BBC Radio 1

  • British singer-songwriter Grace Barker, aka GRACEY released her second EP “Fragile” on October 13, 2021.

The EP comprises of 4-track, produced by EASYFUN, GRACEY, J Moon, Matt Prime, Siba and Starsmith.
From the EP, she premiered new song “Sad Song” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Clara Amfo.
It was written by Starsmith, GRACEY and Jonny Wright. Produced by Starsmith and EASYFUN.
GRACEY told Clara Amfo about the song, “My EP 'Fragile' which drops after this play, very exciting times 'Sad Song' is like similar to the rest of the EP basically like up tempo, sad music. I wrote 'Sad Song' after getting in an Uber, after seeing my ex, get in with someone else in a club, and I got the room to play, I got a feeling well Black Eyed Peas and I was like, No, it's not gonna be a good night well I am, and I went home and I wrote this. So, basically, it's for all of my heartbreak cards out there that want to bop and cry at the same time.”
  • She said of the EP, “This EP is a collection of songs I've written during the first (and most fragile) stage of my recent break up. With some of my rawest thoughts and feelings, it quite literally feels like a four song diary entry at this point. I can't lie, putting my emotions out in the world like this does make me nervous, but I know that when you're scared to put something out it's good, as it means it's come from a real place that people will connect with. And when everything boils down, that's really what it is about for me.”
She continued, “I find there's a lot of pressure to be 'happier' post break up, almost as a way of proving to yourself that you're better without them, so I wanted to play on the idea in the EP through the upbeat, synth-led productions, which juxtaposes the sad, heartbreak lyrics, with artists like Robyn being a huge influence. One of the main things I've realised through writing this EP is that to be vulnerable is to be fucking brave. It means finally allowing yourself to feel and heal properly. To be fragile is to be strong. I'm really proud of this work, and I'm excited for this next step of my journey.”
