Canadian singer-songwriter Crissi Cochrane returned with a new song “Why” alongside an animated music video on September 23, 2021.
The song is about the yearning of two star-crossed lovers who go through the emotional toll of missed connections.
Crissi Cochrane said of the song, “'Why' is a bittersweet ode to missed connections and unrequited love. Always crossing paths at the wrong time, and desperately wishing that love will get a chance to bloom and become something special.”
She created the music video with Delaney Beaudoin. It took 450 hours to the finished product.
She said, “Set in the 1920s, a seamstress creates garments that come to life around her and enact scenes from her romantic past. It's a poetic and artful concept that really captures what it's like to 'take your broken heart and make it into art' (Carrie Fisher).”
Animator Delaney Beaudoin said, "The hours and the project worked out super well and I was very lucky that Crissi reached out. It's not necessarily my go-to style as an artist but I do pride myself on being able to accomplish different styles.”- SpkEC0a2CsA
