Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Nissu Returns With New Song “U”
Dublin-based Brazilian singer-songwriter Nissu returned with a new song “U” along with a lyric video on September 3, 2021.
The song is his first single in two years since the 2019 “Forever Mine”.
It was written by Nissu and produced by Trey Vittetoe. The accompanying video was shot by John Christopher.
The track features rhythmic and catchy melody. He wrote the song 13 years ago.
Nissu shared on social media, “I wrote U when I was 17 after my friend Jéssica Delgado told me she was moving to the capital. Before leaving she said: 'I wish I could put you in a box to take wherever I go'. Music has always been my way of dealing with life, and as dramatic as it might sound, I remember writing it as a way of dealing with the empty feeling of not having my best friend who I used to spend almost everyday with, that close anymore.”
He continued, “13 years later, being accross the globe and away from so many important people for me, the lyrics still make so much sense to me and I still share the same feeling as I did back then. U is for all of you who wish you could put that important person inside a box and take wherever you go no matter if they are still in this world or gone.
