Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Ben Platt Releases New Song “happy to be sad”
Earlier this month, American actor and singer-songwriter Ben Platt announced his upcoming sophomore album “Reverie” would be released on August 13, 2021 and released the lead single “imagine”.
Following “imagine”, he unveiled the second single off called “happy to be sad” on July 16th.
It was written by Ben Platt. Produced by Michael Pollack and Zach Skelton with additional production from GRAMMY® Award nominee Gian Stone.
"I wrote this song the day after my boyfriend left me for a 5-month stretch," Ben Platt said of the song. “It was the first time we had to be apart long term because of the pandemic. It came incredibly naturally and was an immediate expression of the mixed emotions I was feeling that day- the sadness to be away from him against the joy and celebration of finding someone I love enough to make me feel that way.”
The new album comprises of 13-track and is his first LP in two years.
Last month, he joined in Lady Gaga's 10th Anniversary of the Born This Way album, where he performed “Yoü and I”.- source : Spotify
