Coldplay Performs “Higher Power” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
British rock band Coldplay appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform the acoustic rendition of their recent single “Higher Power”.
The song was released back in May. It was written by Max Martin, Denise Carite, Federico Vindver, Will Champion, Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Chris Martin.
The single reached No. 12 on the UK Singles chart.
“I came up with the title first, but struggled to find the melody and lyrics to go with it. Then one day I was staying in this place and the sink was very resonant. And so I started hitting the sink [to make] this beat and then I went to the piano keyboard, and the song just landed in one go”, Frontman Chris Martin explained of the song. “The song is about trying to find the astronaut in all of us, the person that can do amazing things.”
The band will perform at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Festival, scheduled for September 17th and 18th at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, alongside Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, and Weezer.
Also, the band will perform at Global Citizen LIVE on September 25th, where a global 24hr event to help protect the planet and end extreme poverty.- source : NBC
