Canadian DJ Felix Cartal announced his upcoming fourth studio album “Expensive Sounds For Nice People” would be released on June 25, 2021.
From the album, he dropped a new song “Only One” on May 7, 2021. He recruited British singer-songwriter Karen Harding on the track.
This marks the first time Felix Cartal and Karen Harding have collaborated.
The track was written by Taelor Deitcher, Karen Harding, Nicholas Henriques and Chelsea Lena.
Felix Cartal said of the song, “I wrote this one with Karen, Chelsea and Nick during a spontaneous session in LA. I feel like I have two modes when I make music, mode 1 would be something with an emotional heaviness and mode 2 would be a response to just break away and make something that's more of an uplifting escape. It was the summer, and I definitely was in mode 2.”
Karen Harding said, “I loved this writing session. We were all on such a high and I think it definitely came across in the song. We wanted to write a song about that overwhelming feeling of when you know someone is 'the one', we've all felt it at some point.”
The new album comprises of 16-track, featuring guest appearances from Fjord, Veronica, Sophie Simmons, Ofelia K, Karen Harding, Hanne Mjøen, Lights, Kiiara and Kroy.- source : Spotify
