Donate to support families affected by the crisis in Ukraine ➔ Steps Teams Up With Michelle Visage for New Remix “Heartbreak in This City”
British dance-pop group Steps announced their new album “What The Future Holds Pt. 2” will be released on September 10, 2021.
The album is a sequel to the sixth studio album “What the Future Holds” and comprises of 24-track, featuring previous songs and 10 new songs.
From the album, the group teamed up with American radio DJ Michelle Visage to release a new remix of “Heartbreak in This City” along with a music video.
The video was shot in Manchester, and Lisa Scott-Lee filmed her scenes closer to her home in Dubai.
“To say that I’m honoured to record a song with pop icons STEPS is the understatement of the year,” Michelle said in a statement. “With the state of the world today, we all need music that makes us feel good, and trust me when I tell you, Heartbreak In This City is an absolute BOP!”
She continued, “After years of dreaming about it, for at least a moment in time, I can officially be 'Michelle from Steps'! CAN SOMEONE PINCH ME PLEASE? I hope everyone loves listening to it as much as I loved recording it!”- Lee Latchford-Evans said, “The idea for this collaboration came about when we did an Instagram Live with Michelle on album release week.”
Ian ‘H’ Watkins said, “I love Heartbreak In This City and we thought Michelle would be PERFECT to take it to the next level. I am the world’s number one Drag Race superfan and beside myself she’s joined us on the song!”
Lisa Scott-Lee said, “her voice fit the song perfectly and we’re proud she’s now our unofficial sixth member!”
Faye Tozer said, “Not only did Michelle and I have the same dance partner Giovanni Pernice on Strictly Come Dancing, but we both played the role of Miss Hedge in the West End production of Everybody’s Talking About Jamie. We’ve since become good friends and constantly chat all things Strictly and Drag Race by WhatsApp!”
Claire Richards said, “We did an Insta Live with Michelle in November as part of our promotion and when we put the phone down, our manager came up with the idea and asked her. To me, it couldn’t be more perfect. I think if we’re going to do it with anybody, then she is actually the perfect choice.
