Sevdaliza Performs at NPR Music Tiny Desk (Home) Concert
- Iranian-Dutch singer-songwriter Sevdaliza appeared on NPR Music Tiny Desk (Home) Concert to perform “Human”, “Dormant”, “All Rivers at Once” and “Gole Bi Goldoon”.
“Human” was released from her debut album “ISON” in 2016. The accompanying music video was influenced by the German 1959 film “The Indian Tomb”.
Sevdaliza said, “I like to confront my pain and my process of accepting my body by using it as a consistent subject, as a mirror in visual expression. It’s like torture and therapy at the same time.”
“Dormant”, “All Rivers at Once” and “Gole Bi Goldoon” appeared on her sophomore album “Shabrang” released in August 2020.
Sevdaliza shared on social media about the album, “My beloved Shabrang, you trusted the large energy shifts occuring in my life. You gave me wisdom and insight to explore and evolve. You helped me to regain my spiritual strength and trust the course of light. And now, after growing inside me since the early years, I have to let you go. I know you will shine majestically, ancient and avant garde at the same time. Blessed are the cracked for they let in the light. In good and bad times, love thyself always.”
