Mothica Drops New Lyric Video for “Blue Hour”
- Back in August 2020, American singer-songwriter Mothica released her debut album “Blue Hour”.
The 12-tarck album was produced by David Burris, Julie Hardy, Micah Jasper, Mike Irish, Mike MacAllister, Mothica, Nick Sadler, NYDGE, Pablo San Martin and SMLE.
She draws her struggles with mental illness and addiction on the album. Mothica told Inked Magazine last September, “For my listeners who feel like they can't imagine themselves getting sober, I hope they hear my story and see themselves in it. I had a 'live fast, die young' mentality. But I was sick of feeling awful physically and emotionally, so I thought what if I actually try to be the best version of myself? What if I try to get better and actually finish all the pipe dreams I had? And this is me doing that.”
From the album, she dropped a new lyric video for “Blue Hour” directed by Carter Juncal on December 31, 2020. The track was written by Zoë Moss and Mothica.
She shared on social media, “I wanted to end the year with a song that helped me get through this year. This song, this album, Blue Hour, means the world to me. Thank you for listening, and i hope you enjoy what's next. And big thanks to Carter Juncal for making this happen with proper covid safely measures and for the clouds. ☁️”
She is currently working on her upcoming EP and will release the first song called “Forever Fifteen” in January. She said. “I'm working on a project for my next single to showcase my fans who have survived a suicide attempt or overcome self harm. I want to create a photo wall in a music video with all the images of people who have survived something like this. And the song is coming out on the 10 year anniversary of my attempt. I want to celebrate this day by celebrating you.”
