David Archuleta Drops New Music Video for “Switch”
- American singer-songwriter David Archuleta has dropped a new music video for “Switch” directed by Justin Thorne and Kevin McHale.
The song appeared on his eighth studio album “Therapy Sessions”, which was released back in May. The album is his first LP in two years.
The track was written by David Archuleta, Chantry Johnson and Tony Ferrari.
The video features beautiful dance by Jessie Thorne and Alexander Quetell.
David Archuleta said of the video, “I wanted to give a shout out to the dancers in the #Switch music video @jessieleethorne and @alexquetell! We filmed two videos on this day and #Switch was the second video we did. We wrapped filming around 4AM. Both Jessie and Alex gave their all every take... and we did a lot of takes! It was awesome to see them both in action and I'm glad they were part of this video!”
He released a new album “Therapy Sessions: The Lost Sessions” on October 22nd. The album is deluxe edition of the eighth studio album, including two new songs “9 Years Old” and “Therapy”.
He shared about the new song on social media, “9 Years-Old is one of the Lost Sessions songs that just came out a few days ago. I used to sing in my backyard as a kid and even though I was by myself (with the exception of neighbor dogs barking at me) I didn't need the glory or approval from others to be happy to sing. I'd look up at the sky and let it out. I felt heard and connected to something, Someone greater than me. Nothing else really needed to make sense. I'd sing and I was happy. It got more complicated as I got older and more attention. Lol. But when I connect to the emotion and purpose I felt as a 9 year-old now 20 years later, I get a bit of nostalgia, and am reminded I can still be happy from the simple joys, and maybe that's where the joy and happiness may be hiding. Rather than get all complex, I need to simplify.”
