Ingrid Andress Premieres New Song “Waste of Lime”
- Back in March, American country music singer-songwriter Ingrid Andress released her debut album “Lady Like” including No. 1 debut single “More Hearts Than Mine”. The album reached No. 9 on the Billboard US Top Country Albums.
Following the album, she dropped a new song “Waste of Lime” on July 2nd, along with a music video, directed via FaceTime by Lauren Dunn. The track interpolates The Beach Boys' “Kokomo”.
“It actually came from a writing retreat that I did for myself, with my friends in LA and there was a lot of tequila involved,” Ingrid Andress told Zane Lowe on Apple Music. “And we woke up one morning and all these lime wedges were like scattered on the counter — I looked at it, I was like, ‘Oh man, what a waste of lime.’ And then we all were just like ‘Lime, just like waste of time.'” Then they decided to get creative. “So we opened another bottle of tequila and started writing ‘Waste Of Lime.'”
She added, “I thought this was an upbeat, happy song and then someone reminded me that it’s actually kind of sad because I don’t get the guy in the end. But it’s fine! You win some, you lose some. All I need is myself anyway. We’d been drinking lots of tequila, and by the end of the week, the alcohol delivery guy knew us by name.”
