  • Nea Releases Debut EP “Some Say”: Streaming

  • Swedish singer-songwriter Anna Linnea Södahl, aka Nea released her debut EP “Some Say” on June 12th.

The EP contains 5-track including 10 countries No. 1 hit debut single “Some Say” and Spotify Studio Recording “TG4M”.
Nea is known as songwriter for Zara Larsson, Tove Styrke, Tinie Tempah, Axwell and ALMA. But she decided to release her own project.
“Some Say EP are songs I couldn’t give away to anyone else,” Nea said of the EP. “I see now that they were meant for me even though I didn’t know that as I was writing them. These are the songs I love the most and that means the most to me. These are the songs that transformed the songwriter Linnea to the artist Nea.”
She explained each song of the EP below.
  • “Drunk Enough To”
“’Drunk Enough To’ is about that flirty, tipsy feeling when someone has caught your eye and you’re trying to work up the courage to make a move”

    “Some Say”
“We wrote the song past midnight in Hitimpulse’s studio in Berlin. We’d written music all day and were so ready to go home when one of the writers, Bryn, started joking about doing something with the melody of the old 90’s song “I’m Blue (Da-ba-dee)”. He started singing words to that melody and we all laughed for a second til I was like… “We should really do that”. One hour later “Some Say” was written.”

    “Dedicated”
“Dedicated is in many ways a song that I could hear my ex sing to me. I’ve more than once been that annoying person in a relationship who stands with one foot in and one foot out the door because I don’t dare to give in – to be fully dedicated to the relationship. In this song, I sing the words, but the inspiration actually comes from what I think he felt.”

    “TG4M”
“There is something meta in doing a cover of a song that you wrote yourself. I wrote “TG4M” to my then boyfriend in 2016 and when Zara Larsson heard the song and wanted to make her version of it we re-wrote the text so it would fit her perfectly. Now I go back to the original text and do a new, more personal version of the song.”
