Gareth Emery Shares New Song “You'll Be OK” featuring Annabel
- Los Angeles-based British DJ Gareth Emery teamed up with London-based singer-songwriter Annabel to release a new song “You'll Be OK”.
The accompanying music video was directed by Lee Jones. The track follows up “You Are”. This marks the first time Gareth Emery and Annabel have worked together.
Gareth Emery wrote about the song on social media, “If I’m honest, I thought I’d be announcing this song under different circumstances.
Although I wrote these lyrics about a pretty horrible time in my life (being on a plane I thought was going to crash), I kind of imagined the day I released this song, everything would be great, and I’d be sat outside on another beautiful California sunny day.
But, these are tough times in the world. Not an hour goes by without new reports of how bad this virus might actually be. And whilst I’m still not sure how bad things are, it certainly feels like we’re in a crisis. Panic buying, empty shelves, the last beach and hand sanitizer gone a long time ago… and today I’m sitting in the pissing rain wondering if we’re about to go on full lockdown.
But funnily enough, in these times, I think this song is actually even more relevant.”
- He continued, “The video’s a reflection of the good times. The beautiful moments shared with loved ones, the places that made us feel most alive, and the parts of our lives that we’ll never forget.
It's a reminder of how things were… and how they will be again before long. I hope it brings you a little light and whilst I can’t promise that you’ll be ok… you almost certainly will be.
Stay safe people. Hope you enjoy the song, and I look forward to playing it for you in the flesh when this is all over.”
