  • The Dreaded Laramie Announces Debut Album “Princess Feedback”, Shares New Song “Life is Funny”

  • Nashville-based pop band The Dreaded Laramie, consisting of Zach Anderson (guitar), M.C. Cunningham (vocals/guitar), Andrew Mankin (drums), and Drew Swisher (bass), has announced their debut full-length album “Princess Feedback” will be released on July 5, 2024 via Smartpunk Records.

The debut album follows on the heels of the 2019 self-titled debut EP and the 2022 EP “PEverything A Girl Could Ask”.
The album comprises a 10-track, where the band recorded with producer Dave Schiffman at Soultrain Sound Studios in Nashville.

The band bassist Drew Swisher said of the album, “I think it sounds like a confetti cannon blast of repressed emotion. And I want people to feel like they have rockets on their Heelys, blasting them forward when they listen to it.”
  • From the album, the band released a new song “Life is Funny” on May 8, 2024.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Fishnets” and “Breakup Songs”.
The track was written by The Dreaded Laramie and produced by Dave Schiffman.
The song depicts an experience with a crush that led the band's frontwoman, M.C. Cunningham, from initial rejection to growing discomfort.

M.C. Cunningham explained, “At one point, I tried to make a move, and he politely turned me down (reasonable), but then starting that night at about 3AM flooded me with a TON of very cryptic text messages, including the title, 'Life is funny.'”
She continueed, “It's very confusing to be both sad that someone has rejected you and uncomfortable with the advances he makes following the rejection. I am still friends with this person, but he texts me a lot less now, and only during business hours.”

  • The accompanying music video was directed by The Dreaded Laramie.
In all its goopy glory, the video serves up a representation of the absurd and hilarious situations one finds themselves encountering in personal relationships as well as on the road. Sometimes you just have to laugh in the face of it.
