  • James Vincent McMorrow Releases New Song “Call me back”

  • Irish singer and songwriter James Vincent McMorrow will release his upcoming album “Wide open, horses” on June 14, 2024.

The album is his first LP in two years since the the 2022 album “The Less I Knew”, and comprises a 13-track.
Also, it is the first released under his new label Nettwerk Music Group.

“To me, the album is about finding relief from the cycle of life’s pressure,” James Vincent McMorrow said of the album. “I don’t think the theory ‘modernity equals better’ holds much water these days. The more technology we add, the more unhappy everyone seems to be. I don’t want to move backwards, but I felt a sense of nostalgia and happiness in the album. It would be grandiose of me to think I could offer you some profound release through words and lyrics, but maybe I can…The job is to make a record I love and hopefully offer a respite. Maybe we can all get back to a life where we aren’t so obsessed with trying to seek out meaning from absolutely everything.”
  • From the album, he released the fourth single called “Call me back” on April 26, 2024.
The song was written based on his experiences of living in Los Angeles between 2018 and 2019.
The track was written and produced by James Vincent McMorrow.

James Vincent McMorrow said of the song, “I've lived a lot of places over the last few years and LA is a place that's endlessly kind of like, warm and revealing. And I got a lot of good song ideas started there or finished there. And that song is about living in LA and like 2018, 2019 for an amount of time and just like the simplicity of life there at that moment for me and it's a very simple song.”

He continued, “It's a really simple love song. It's a song about just like, people coming together and sort of making each other better. It's definitely again, one of the easier tunes on the records, one that probably will resonate quite well with people. But it's not a complicated notion at all.”
