  • Vampire Weekend Releases Two New Songs “Capricorn” & “Gen-X Cops”

  • Earlier this mont, American rock band Vampire Weekend, consisting of Ezra Koenig (vocals/guitar), Chris Baio (bass) and Chris Tomson (drums), announced their fifth studio album “Only God Was Above Us” would be released on April 5, 2024 via Columbia Records.


    The album is their first LP in five years since the 2019 album “Father of the Bride”, and comprises a 10-track.
    Also, it marks the third collaboration between the band and their longtime producer Ariel Rechtshaid.
    From the album, the band released two new song “Capricorn” and “Gen-X Cops” on February 16, 2024.
    “Capricorn” was written and produced by Ezra Koenig.
    “Gen-X Cops” was eritten and produced by Chris Tomson and Ezra Koenig. The song named after Benny Chan's 1990s Hong Kong action movie.
    Both songs were with production by Ariel Rechtshaid.
    Each of the new tunes is accompanied by a new video built around footage of New York circa 1988 by “Only God Was Above Us” album art photographer Steven Siegel.
