Sody Releases New Song “Missing Me”
London-based singer-songwriter Sody has released a new song “Missing Me”.
The song is her first single since the 2023 EP “Star Potential”, which was the first project as an independent artist after leaving Sony Music.
The track received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Pop with Mollie King.
The song is about not coping after a breakup.
It was written by Sophie Dyson, and Madelene Eliasson who also produced the track.
“A song about missing yourself. Missing who you were and how you felt when you were with someone. Your happier self!,” Sody shared on social media about the song last November. “I called my manager when I got to LA and was like look I know I wrote this song literally weeks ago but there's just something about it that I want to pump into my veins and I want to release it before the end of the year!!!! And here we are.”
- She continued, “This version is basically exactly the same as the demo from when Madelene Eliasson and I wrote it. It just felt so special somehow. It's everything from the day but with a mix by the legend that is Lee Smith. It all came together so naturally. I reached out to Caity Krone to shoot the artwork as I knew she'd nail the sunrise aesthetic (and she did!!!!!). A 4am wake up was worth it ”
She added, “That's the beauty of being an independent artist. there are no rules. if you want to put out art, you can! I love this song. I hope you love it too.”
