Usher & H.E.R. Drop New Music Video for “Risk It All” from Original Motion Picture “The Color Purple” Soundtrack
American R&B singer-songwriters Usher and H.E.R. have dropped a new music video for “Risk It All” directed by Dave Meyers.
The song was released earlier this month from the original motion picture The Color Purple” soundtrack.
It was written by H.E.R. and Jimmy Napes. Also, H.E.R. produced the track.
The track encapsulates the raw emotion and enduring strength of risk, love, and liberation, with Usher's signature smooth tones blending seamlessly with H.E.R.'s soulful depth.
The song will appear on Usher's upcoming ninth studio album “Coming Home”, which is set to be released the same day he graces the Super Bowl Halftime stage on February 11, 2024.
Usher shared a message to H.E.R. on social media, “U produced and co-wrote such a beautiful record. Appreciate U for blessing this video with all of your greatness.”- The soundtrack was released on December 15, 2023. The album comprises a 37-track, featuring artists such as Alicia Keys, Megan Thee Stallion, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Fantasia, Missy Elliott, Halle Bailey, Keyshia Cole, Coco Jones, Taraji P. Henson, Timbaland, Jorja Smith, The-Dream, Celeste, Mary Mary, Darkchild, October London and more.
The film “The Color Purple” was directed by Blitz Bazawule, starring Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, Louis Gossett Jr., Phylicia Pearl Mpasi, Ciara, Jon Batiste, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Fantasia Barrino.
It is based on the 1982 novel of the same name by Alice Walker. It is the second film adaptation of the novel, following the 1985 film directed by Steven Spielberg.
