The Paper Kites Drops New Live Video for “Mercy”
Australian indie folk-rock band The Paper Kites dropped a new live video for “Mercy” on December 23, 2023.
The song is featured on their sixth studio album “At the Roadhouse”, which was released back in September.
It was written by Matt Redlich, and Sam Bentley who also produced the track.
The band recorded the new album by converting an old gold-mining supply shop into The Roadhouse in a remote village outside their native Melbourne. And they performed live shows during the recording process.
This video was shot at that time and was directed by Kieran Watson-Bonis.
“There were no expectations or pressure around the performances - just us and a small room full of people,” the band lead singer Sam Bentley explained of their residency at The Roadhouse. “The whole point was to try and connect with people and in turn develop a sense of community around the music - I think that’s what happened.”
- The band shared on social media, “'At The Roadhouse' - it was very special for us to put this out this year, a record full of magic and memories and captured a great and beautiful time for us. To all of you who journey along with this band and the music - sending our love, thanks and appreciation to you all and we’ll see you out there on the road next year!”
