Ghostly Kisses Releases New Song “Golden Eyes”
French-Canadian dreamy pop singer-songwriter Ghostly Kisses released a new song “Golden Eyes” on October 18, 2023.
The song marks her first release in English, following two singles in French since her debut album “Heaven, Wait” released back in May.
The track blends spirited melodies with a touch of wistful nostalgia, weaving in the rhythmic tapestry.
It was written by Louis-Étienne Santais, Margaux Sauvé. Produced by Louis-Étienne Santais, George Fitzgerald.
Ghostly Kisses said of the song, “Golden Eyes is about being in love with your best friend and how gauche it feels to finally admit it. The lyrics were inspired by a revelation from a fan we met on tour, about how hard and vertiginous it can be to express our true feelings to someone that we really love. The verses are intimate, almost like revealing the secret, and then the music opens in the choruses, uplifting the song with light and catchy melodies.”
- The accompanying music video was directed by Gerardo Alcaine, who shot on a 16mm camera.
Ghostly Kisses said of the video, “The music video opens with the words, 'I've got something to tell you', hinting at an impending revelation. I appear somewhat uneasy in front of the camera, and the scene transitions from a cold and sterile photoshoot to the countryside, ultimately culminating in a vivid red world - a subtle nod of what is to come next. This visual journey serves as an invitation to a crimson-hued world, a forewarning of the artist's intention to unveil another dimension within the realm of Ghostly Kisses.”
