The Breath Announces New Album “Land of My Other”, Shares New Song “Don't Rush It”
Manchester-based alt-folk duo The Breath, consisting of Ríoghnach Connolly (vocals) and Stuart McCallum (guitar), has announced their third studio album “Land of My Other” will be released on October 13, 2023 via Real World Records.
It is their first album in five years since the 2018 album “Let the Cards Fall”.
The album comprises 10-track, produced by renowned composer/pianist Thomas Bartlett.
Stuart McCallum said of the alnum, “We work like two halves of a single songwriter. Imagine a guitarist and a singer who are not separate but are separate people. We just have this really special connection that lets us listen, adapt and evolve a piece of music together.”
Ríoghnach Connolly added, “Stuart is the yin to my yang. He has one face. I have many. He’s very measured. I’m not. I like mayhem. He doesn’t. I know where I am with him.”
Thomas Bartlett said, “The main aim was to capture the duo. I'd sit at the piano not playing very much, just locating the energy and helping to focus it in a way I wanted it to happen. Sometimes I wanted to join in the fun.”- From the album, the duo released the first single called “Don't Rush It” on July 25, 2023.
The track was written by Ríoghnach Connolly, Stuart McCallum, and Thomas Bartlett.
On the track, Ríoghnach Connolly’s emotions run the gamut: righteous, sorrowful, joyous.
It might be about the toll we pay for leaving home, the mistakes we make by hurrying grief or something else.
Authenticity is at a premium. Shame is cast aside. - source : Apple Music
