Canadian country music singer-songwriter MacKenzie Porter released a new song “Chasing Tornadoes” on May 5, 2023.
The song is her first music since the collaborative songs “One Night Left” with Cheat Codes and “One Too” with Dallas Smith.
Also, the song is the first single off of her upcoming debut album.
The track was written by Emily Landis, Jamie Moore and Lainey Wilson. Produced by Joey Moi.
The accompanying music video was directed by Justin Clough, who filmed in the streets of Las Vegas.
“'Chasing Tornadoes' is the first song off of my full-length, debut album with Big Loud,” MacKenzie Porter said of the song. “We have so much new music coming, and this is the perfect intro to what the rest of the record feels like. It's such a fun, feel-good song, and I can't wait to play it live.”- Back in Mach, she told Entertainment Focus about the album in a interview, “It will all be new songs. The only song that will be on the record that people have heard so far will be 'Pick Up'. We've cut 10 songs and I've got another month and a half of writing still to do. I haven't put out a big body of work like that in forever. I put out an independent album back in 2014 but there's been nothing else like that since. It's very exciting!”
