Kim Petras Teams Up With Nicki Minaj for New Song “Alone”
Los Angeles-based German singer-songwriter Kim Petras teamed up with Trinidadian-American rapper Nicki Minaj to release a new song “Alone” on April 21, 2023.
This marks the first collaboration between Kim Petras and Nicki Minaj.
The song is the third single off of her upcoming major label debut studio album (yet-untitled), following “If Jesus Was a Rockstar” and “Brrr”.
The track samples Dutch trance music group Alice Deejay's 1997 song “Better Off Alone”. The song was released internationally in July 1999, then reached No. 2 on the UK Singles chart.
It was written by Kim Petras, Lukasz Gottwald, Sebastiaan Molijn, Eelke Kalberg, Onika Maraj, Ryan Ogren and Rocco Valdes.

Kim Petras said of the song, “I was born and raised in Germany, and that song is a classic in clubs all over Europe, so I grew up to it. I had a lot of amazing moments, some bad moments, so many club moments in general to that song, so that song is just in me, and I feel like it inspired me to make music.
