Glass Forest Releases New Song “Can't Just Walk Away”
Vancouver-based indie-pop band Glass Forest, consisting of Nick Owen (vocals/keyboards), Stephen Clarke (bass/beats) and Abby Wale (vocals), released a new song “Can't Just Walk Away” on March 31, 2023.
The song will appear on their upcoming debut EP, which is expected to be released in May 2023.
It was written by Nick Owen, Stephen Clarke, and Nygel Assylin. Produced by Nygel Asselin.
The track was written about the emotional hardships following the fallout of a previous relationship between Nick Owen and Abby Wale.
It was a uniquely honest process writing and recording the single as they directly confronted the traumas.
“Have you ever confronted past relationship issues with an ex through writing a song together?,” the band explained. “When it came to writing "Can't Just Walk Away," we - bandmates Nick and Abby from Glass Forest - did just that.”- They continued, “This song tells the story of the mental struggles, anxiety, confusion, and loss that come with isolation faced after a breakup. We found the songwriting process to be oddly healing as it gave us space to address and work through past issues, facilitated by our producer Nygel Asselin.”
They added, “Connecting with emotions is a healthy practice, and confronting the hard ones with the aid of music can be a helpful way to ease the process. We hope that "Can't Just Walk Away" provides you with a healing effect, giving you energy by way of catharsis.” -
