Preston Pablo Drops New Music Video for “AY AY AY”
Canadian singer-songwriter Preston Pablo dropped a new music video for “AY AY AY” on March 16, 2023.
The song was released back in January, following “Love You Bad” released last October.
It was written by Preston Pablo. The music video was directed by Martin Wolfgang Klapperbein.
Preston Pablo told Wonderland Magazine about the song, “That song wasn't intended to be the song that it is now. The birthplace of that song was just in the studio where the energy was so high. I was there with my producers and we were all just bouncing off of each other and we wanted to replicate that within a song. At the end of the day, we got to the chorus which just describes all of my craziest desires and fantasies — stuff that I envision in my head but never say out loud. So this track just gave me the freedom to be a little bit cocky and allow myself to manifest those desires and own them.”
- On March 13th, Preston Pablo won Breakthrough Artist of The Year at The Juno Awards of 2023.
“When I first heard my name called, it was a rush of adrenaline,” Preston Pablo explained about the win on Monday's broadcast. “Now, it still feels surreal, I don't think it's even set in yet. I really haven't had much time to collect my thoughts truthfully. As soon as I landed back in Toronto after the Junos, we went right back to work to prepare for my first headline show. Once the show is done and I have some time to myself, I think it'll all finally set in. I'm truly so grateful to have my name in the same category as the artists I was nominated alongside, let alone win. I'm happy that the amount of time and energy that went into this last year has been acknowledged. And now I have to make sure I use this new stage of my career to keep building! There's new music on the way that I'm so excited to share with the world.”
